Why do you keep a journal?

I just want to chronicle my life experiences to see if maybe I need to experience more.
I wouldn't call it a journal really. I just jot down my thoughts.
So maybe when I re-read it, things in my life will make more sense.
No reason.
Because some things I just can't share with others, so I type them down instead.
So maybe people will value what I have to say more.
Just something for my kids to read one day.
